Oasis Horse & Carriage was established as an
additional opportunity for brides and grooms, as
well as their wedding parties. Nothing makes a
statement that is so dramatic, elegant, and
storybook, as an 18.2hh Belgian Draft horse that
weighs in at an astounding 2,200 pounds, and
delivers bride and father to the ceremony. Our
horse, Valor, will make a surprise entry from
behind our ancient oak tree, which brings gasps
and ahhs from the awaiting guests. After the
nuptials, Valor and his carriage will take bride and
groom for a short ride before returning for photo
opportunities. What girl has never dreamed of
this scenario?
Valor is not only the perfect carriage horse, but a survivor in his own right. Rescued from a kill pen moments before a scheduled trip to slaughter, the Millers have given him a new lease on life that includes a chapter dedicated to wellbeing and a life of celebrity. Valor is a staple on The Historic Granbury Square where he offers rides to locals and tourists alike. What better way to see "The Best Historic Small Town In America." It is the closest you'll ever get to viewing Granbury as it was viewed 150 years ago. Valor is currently a running ad campaign for VisitGranbury.com, and his resume includes television news appearances, a Texas travel show, his own fan page on facebook, the honor of delivering our own Hood County Judge and his wife, as well as the Granbury Major to the steps of the Hood County Courthouse during the celebration events for Texas Independence Day!
Not only does Oasis Horse & Carriage own a variety of carriages and wagons, but they also have access through friends to hard-to-find pieces such as stage coaches, hearses and more.
The Millers are extending Valor's reach into community service as they begin a new entity, Valor For Veterans. Find more information by clicking here.
